I’m your State Representative Katie Stuart for the 112th District. I currently live in Edwardsville with my husband and two children. I have a B.A. in mathematics from Rutgers University and an M.S. in mathematics from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Before becoming an Illinois state representative in 2017, I taught mathematics to middle school and high school students in Highland and Edwardsville. I also taught mathematics to college students at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. It is my background in education that motivated me to become a State Representative; I saw the impact a lack of investment in education has on students and teachers. I wanted to bring the problem-solving skills I have developed as an educator to Springfield.
