Dear Neighbors,

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Diaper Drive! We donated over 1,000 diapers to the Madison County Diaper Bank and the Metro East Diaper Bank, which will help families in need in Madison and St. Clair Counties.

On September 17th I filed the DNR-Parks/Menstrual Products Bill (HB 4148), requiring menstrual products to be available at no cost in all restrooms in State Parks managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. I have continually advocated expanded access to menstrual hygiene products, including passing a new law that requires housing shelters to provide period products free of charge.

On October 15th there will be a public hearing at 2 p.m. at the National Corn to Ethanol Center at SIUe campus regarding redrawing of the congressional maps. This public hearing is an opportunity for residents to have input into the redraw process.  The proposed maps will be released in the coming weeks. More information can be viewed here.

I am creating my legislative agenda for the spring session this fall. I love hearing from the local residents regarding concerns and issues that may be able to be addressed by legislation.  You can contact my district office at 618.365.6650 or email at with ideas for new bills or thoughts on my agenda.

As you all know, individuals over the age of two wear a mask while inside public spaces.  If you need to get vaccinated, you can find a clinic here. I encourage everyone to get the vaccine to combat this pandemic for good. I also encourage those who need it, to receive the booster shot. For Covid-19 related resources, please visit my website for more information.
